therapie LEIPZIG 2023 Focuses on the Topics Shaping the Industry's Future
From 4 to 6 May 2023, under the theme "Better.Support" ("Besser.Helfen"), therapie LEIPZIG will present numerous new products and services, innovative solutions and the latest treatment methods with the aim of making the provision of support even more evidence-based and efficient. The trade fair offers a comprehensive overview of the market across the entire medical and health sector, including current products, services and trends. The accompanying congress programme will be presenting 156 contributions designed to enable participants to benefit from accredited further education at the highest level and enjoy this interdisciplary exchange.
Topics in the spotlight at this year's event include geriatric medicine and neurorehabilitation. Digitisation is a subject that affects all areas of daily therapy practice and therefore also plays a central role at both the conference and the trade fair. The leading national trade fair reflects the full scale of digitisation in the therapy sector. Market leaders as well as start-ups will be presenting digital solutions and concepts to demonstrate how "Better.Support" can be put into practice digitally.
Politically Topical Opening Event: Opportunities and Risks in Health Care in 2023
The congress at therapie LEIPZIG 2023 will open with a high-profile panel discussion led by the German Society for Medical Rehabilitation (DEGEMED). Current challenges faced by the sector will be discussed together with representatives from the federal government, the Federal Association of Medical Rehabilitation Centres for Outpatients (BamR), the Federal Association for Geriatric Medicine and the German Society for Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine (DGPRM), as well as the German Federation of Therapeutic Product Associations (SHV). These challenges include the growing shortage of skilled professionals, as well as the general insecurity concerning energy price increases.
New Blossoms in May: Congress Debuts in 2023
For the first time, holistic approaches to medical therapy are more prominent on the congress agenda alongside traditional physiotherapy and occupational therapy treatments. Issues such as stress can therefore be examined from different angles, such as naturopathy, psychosomatics and systemic hypnotherapy. Furthermore, several topics revolving around nutrition and inflammation serve to widen the scope of the congress programme.
The congress event "PhysioBIZZ" will be debuting at therapie LEIPZIG and is targeted mainly at therapists running their own businesses and at professionals with managerial responsibilities. The focus is on advice on the day-to-day running of a business. Selected lectures will be looking at topics such as finding and managing staff, as well as marketing and the interconnection between physiotherapy and additional sport-based services. The event is organised by the Richard Pflaum Publishing House.
Latest Treatments in Neurorehabilitation
Last year's themed special presentation entitled "live PRAXIS neuroreha" was so well-received that it has once again been integrated into the trade fair this year. THERAMotion, one of the most modern neurorehabilitation clinics, is offering insights into its day-to-day treatments on all three days of the event and will be bringing along patients, therapists and therapy equipment. Live demonstrations with patients will show possible applications of robotics and computer-assisted treatments in holistic, motor and cognitive rehabilitation. At two guided sessions per day, visitors can experience the processes implemented in this simulated clinic, ask questions on managing a practice and find out all about the benefits of the latest, evidence-based therapy methods.
Geriatric Medicine Is a Central Topic
Therapy clinics are already feeling the effects of demographic change. This situation will be comprehensively examined at the therapie LEIPZIG 2023 trade fair and congress. Numerous exhibitors at the trade fair are presenting innovative concepts and equipment designed to treat geriatric patients. The congress will address the necessity of cooperation within an interdisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, care staff and doctors. This is because geriatric medicine demands a holistic approach, with the aim of improving the quality of life for patients and maximising their independence.
The significance of this topic is reflected in the presence of the Federal Association for Geriatric Medicine (Bundesverband Geriatrie e.V.), which will be holding a lecture at the therapie LEIPZIG congress for the first time. This high-ranking association will present examples of working methods in multi-professional treatment teams. Various therapists will explain how concepts and collaborations can be put into practice, as well as give an overview of further education opportunities that are designed specifically for therapists to learn more about geriatric treatments.
