therapie LEIPZIG 2025 congress programme: knowledge, practice, progress
The therapie LEIPZIG 2025 congress is the largest training event for healthcare providers in the German-speaking world. Over 150 lectures and seminars, more than 160 speakers and the support of over 20 professional associations guarantee a first-class programme. Eight partner and parallel events complement the congress and create an ideal platform for knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary exchange.
therapie LEIPZIG has compiled a programme from over 300 submitted contributions that combines relevance, topicality and practical orientation. It combines evidence-based findings with practical application. Proven classics such as pain therapy and kinesiological taping remain an integral part, while new scientific findings and innovative approaches are increasingly being integrated into everyday therapeutic practice. Neurorehabilitation, functional neurology and neuro-centred training methods are particularly well represented topics this year. Aspects such as practice management, staff management and patient communication are also becoming increasingly significant.
The congress will be complemented for the first time by the OMT Germany manual therapists’ seminars on 9 May and the Bobath Association’s advanced training conference on 9 and 10 May.
1st German Rehabilitation Sports Congress and interactive course programme
The German Rehabilitation Sports Congress, a customised training platform for exercise instructors, trainers and decision-makers in rehabilitation sports, will take place for the first time at therapie LEIPZIG. The focus is on practical content on modern training methods, organisation of clubs and accounting.
In addition, preventive healthcare and health sports providers can look forward to a course programme with over 40 sessions, which will take place directly in exhibition hall 3 on the health campus. From rotation movements for healthy joints and prevention of falls to Pilates to fight osteoporosis and osteopenia, participants receive suggestions that can be integrated directly into everyday working life. Courses are limited and can be booked individually in advance.
Occupational therapy: Learning to go
The “Learning to go” congress series organised by Verlag modernes lernen stands out in particular from the wide range of programmes for occupational therapists. Practical presentations and workshops will cover topics such as the emotional perception of patients, psychomotor programmes for people living with dementia and modern treatment approaches for burn scars.
Science and alternative healing methods in dialogue
With its own exhibition area at the trade fair and an extensive training programme, the congress also offers valuable insights for alternative practitioners and therapists interested in naturopathy. The N-Congress, organised by the specialist journal “Naturheilpraxis”, will focus on topics such as the connection between jaw problems and the musculoskeletal system, pain therapy without medication and the role of osteopathy in modern medicine. Supplementary lectures will deal with the effectiveness of yoga for scoliosis and the importance of an anti-inflammatory diet.
Further training for doctors
For doctors, the congress programme includes the latest scientific findings from the fields of sports medicine and physical and rehabilitative medicine. High-quality further training formats have been developed in co-operation with leading specialist associations. These include the German Society for Sports Medicine and Preventive Healthcare with the Central German Sports Medicine Day on 9 May, the Saxony State Association for the Preventive Healthcare and Rehabilitation of Cardiovascular Diseases with its training course of the same name on 10 May and the Central German State Association for Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine with the Central German Symposium on Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine (PRM) on 10 May.
Management forum: strategies for the inpatient sector
How will hospital reforms, new prices for therapeutic products and the “blank prescription” affect inpatient therapy departments? These and other key questions will be the focus of the PHYSIO DEUTSCHLAND management forum on 9 May. Experts will discuss practical solutions for sustainable quality of care and the future of “New Work & New Leadership” in the healthcare sector.
Podiatry quality conference
On 9 May, for the first time, the quality conference of the Association of German Podiatrists will take place. The 19th edition of the conference will focus on topics including the automated preparation of medical devices to prevent infection, innovative treatment methods such as laser therapy for nail fungus and preventive measures for diabetics.
Congress advisory board and certification
The therapie LEIPZIG congress programme is developed in cooperation with experts from science and practice. The Congress Advisory Board, consisting of PHYSIO DEUTSCHLAND and the Association for Physiotherapy (Verband für Physiotherapie - VPT), supports this process and provides professional input.
The majority of the congress seminars are certified. Depending on the event, participants receive up to four training points or recognised teaching units. Detailed information on certification can be found in the online congress programme.
